How Is It That We Really Do Help Our Customers?

Our purpose at CES is to help home and business owners make good decisions regarding their energy costs and enroll them in a program that will best fit their energy needs.

This may surprise you—one of the reasons we have such a great team of lead generators, sales people, and administrators working with CES comes from the universal desire all well-intentioned people have—to help others. Given that one is not criminal-like, but basically a well-meaning, good hearted person, we can safely say he/she has a purpose to help others.

Leo Rosten, a scriptwriter, humorist and journalist said,

“The purpose of life is not to be happy—but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all.”

This is definitely true of sales people. They all want what they are offering to actually prove to be useful and make a difference with the customer. It’s very rough on a sales person if they cannot achieve that purpose. If they cannot, eventually they will consider themselves failures in the field of sales.

At CES we have made understanding the purpose of the company, the purpose of the job, and the purpose of the individual sales person, vital to being able to do the job. This understanding creates cohesiveness in the group. Regardless of all our different backgrounds and experiences, we agree on these purposes and know that we really do help our customers.

Our training program here at CES helps people who have failed at sales before or who have absolutely no sales experience, put it all together with success. It is not uncommon to get on the elevator here at work and hear sales reps talking about how much they saved a customer today by signing them up for a new energy program.

As a business owner, succeeding in business and in the energy industry amounts to more than my personal success. As you build a team you quickly realize that your success depends upon each member of your team’s success. And here’s the story of one recent happy customer one of our sales reps helped: he was working with a customer who was paying 9.9 cents per kWh and had an annual usage of 2.3 million kWh. This customer had been with an energy broker who charged an additional broker fee of $1,250 every quarter. This is a common practice but not all energy brokers make their money this way.

We were able to get this customer’s rate down to 6.4 cents per kWh which resulted in reducing his electricity costs over a 2 year period by $168,730.00!

And we were able to save him an additional $10,000 over that 2 year period because that broker fee went away. Total savings: $178,730.00!!

The customer was ecstatic and the CES sales rep was extremely happy he was able to do this for his customer.

This kind of experience is not unique at CES and we LOVE it when our well-trained sales reps successfully help our customers!
