At CES We Have Our Hearts In The Right Place!

Apr 10, 2018 | Community Betterment News

February is the month which celebrates love and all things which are good and filled with heart.

Being National Heart Health Month, CES wore red each Tuesday to raise awareness in keeping our hearts healthy and happy by following The National Heart Association’s recommendations to Eat Smart, Move More, Add Color and Be Well.

It was great being all on the heart happy team and showing others that they can make their hearts happier with these simple actions and more!

Our Community Learning Center kids got their monthly visit from me just in time for Valentine’s Day!

I read them a fun book about love and supporting others and then we did some crafts. As usual these amazing kids were filled with creative ideas which turned into beautiful art for their parents and teachers and even some for me!

Supporting the CLC is something that makes our hearts bigger at CES. From bringing them music and singing lessons to monthly reading and crafts, we love helping kids to become happy and successful.

Our gardening with Clearwater Community Gardens is really going well.

Our community gardeners are all learning so much and supporting each other with friendship and help in growing healthy organic vegetables. I have taken on the role of Gardens Secretary and am eager to help bring together even more community members and help to host fun and educational events, too.

With our office located just across the street, we really are supporting our neighbors and helping to bring everyone more love and support.

Keeping our youth away from harmful drugs is something we really take to heart at CES.

As a sponsor of a vital Tampa Drug Prevention Summit, put on by Drug Free America Foundation, CES continues our partnering for real change and support.

In its 6th year, this event brings together many who are involved in drug prevention, drug rehabilitation and drug enforcement. Incredible speakers come for this amazing 3-day conference.

This year, the keynote speaker was our acting Drug Czar, Richard Baum. Mr. Baum has been a devoted representative of the Office of National Drug Control Policy for many years.

It was a pleasure to hear him speak of the importance of drug prevention education as being paramount in keeping drug use down. I had the pleasure of meeting with him and having a nice discussion about our country and its drug epidemic and was able to show him the Drug Free World materials which are so effective in educating youth on the truth about drugs so that they can make informed decisions about them. All materials are available at no charge to any who would like to use them. The website: drugfreeworld.org has all of them available at your fingertips.

Should you wish for my help in bringing a presentation or a workshop to your group or school, I would be most happy to do so.

We certainly put our hearts into our good works and will continue to do so by partnering with and supporting those groups who love and help children. Just email me at lposyton@cesstaff.com.
